Ingredients
-
1 pound chicken tenders (or boneless, skinless chicken breasts cut into strips)
-
1 cup all-purpose flour
-
2 large eggs, beaten
-
1 cup panko breadcrumbs
-
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
-
1 teaspoon paprika
-
1 teaspoon garlic powder
-
½ teaspoon onion powder
-
½ teaspoon salt
-
¼ teaspoon black pepper
-
Cooking spray
Instructions
Prepare the Chicken: If using chicken breasts, slice them into strips approximately the size of chicken tenders.
Set Up the Breading Station: Place flour in one shallow bowl, beaten eggs in another, and a mixture of panko breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese (if using), paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a third bowl.
Bread the Chicken: Coat each chicken tender in flour, dip into the beaten eggs, and then coat with the breadcrumb mixture. Press lightly to ensure the breading adheres well.
Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 2-3 minutes.
Cook the Chicken Tenders: Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Arrange the chicken tenders in a single layer without overlapping. Spray the tops of the tenders lightly with cooking spray. Air fry for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through. The internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C).
Serve: Serve the chicken tenders immediately with your favorite dipping sauces, such as ketchup, ranch, honey mustard, or barbecue sauce.
Tips for Perfect Chicken Tenders
-
Even Coating: Press the breadcrumb mixture firmly onto the tenders for a crispier result.
-
Batch Cooking: If making a large quantity, cook in batches to avoid overcrowding the air fryer.
-
Reheating: Reheat leftovers in the air fryer at 375°F for 3-5 minutes to restore crispiness.
