Sweet potato wedges are a delicious, healthy alternative to regular fries. Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, they’re perfect as a snack, side dish, or appetizer.
Ingredients
-
2 large sweet potatoes, washed and cut into wedges
-
2 tablespoons olive oil
-
1 teaspoon paprika
-
½ teaspoon garlic powder
-
½ teaspoon onion powder
-
½ teaspoon salt
-
¼ teaspoon black pepper
-
Optional: ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper for spice
Instructions
Prepare the Sweet Potatoes: Wash the sweet potatoes thoroughly and cut them into evenly sized wedges. Pat them dry with a kitchen towel.
Season the Wedges: In a large mixing bowl, toss the sweet potato wedges with olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Ensure the wedges are evenly coated.
Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 2-3 minutes.
Cook the Wedges: Arrange the sweet potato wedges in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until the wedges are crispy and golden brown.
Oven Method: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Arrange the seasoned wedges on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, ensuring they don’t overlap. Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until crispy and cooked through.
Serve: Remove the wedges from the air fryer or oven and serve immediately. Pair with your favorite dipping sauces like aioli, ketchup, or spicy mayo.

Tips for Perfect Sweet Potato Wedges
-
Uniform Size: Cut the wedges evenly to ensure consistent cooking.
-
Extra Crispiness: Soak the wedges in cold water for 30 minutes before cooking to remove excess starch, then dry them thoroughly.
-
Batch Cooking: If using an air fryer, cook in batches to avoid overcrowding the basket.
